After graduating from El Camino high school in Carmichael, California I attended Cal Davis as an undeclared bio science major. During summer break a neighbor who was a dentist asked me to work for him. That launched my dental career. I worked for him until he retired and then applied to the dental hygiene program at Sacramento City College . After graduation I worked as a dental hygienist in the East Bay and San Francisco for fifteen years. I knew I loved dentistry and decided to further my career and called UOP Dental School to inquire about the program. One month later, and in my 40s, I joined the Class of 1994.

Upon graduating, I received an award for Excellence in Dental Radiology and was adopted in to the TKO honor society! I have been certified in the use of Lasers in Dentistry and the placement and restoration of Dental Implants. I continue to take the required Continuing Education Courses and follow up with new and changing areas of dentistry such as the use of silver diamine fluoride to treat tooth decay and the CariFree protocol for eliminating tooth decay.
